Photo Terms and conditions

1. Ownership of Photos and Videos
All photos and videos taken by North Star Adventures Ltd. are the exclusive property of North Star Adventures Ltd., and we retain full rights to these materials in perpetuity.
2. Use of Photos and Videos
North Star Adventures Ltd. reserves the right to use photos and/or videos for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to our website, brochures, and social media platforms.
3. Access to Photos
By participating in a North Star Adventures tour, guests acknowledge and agree to allow North Star Adventures Ltd. to share their photos and videos with them. If you do not agree with this, please inform us in advance by email or send us written notice prior to the tour.
4. Complimentary Photos
Each tour includes complimentary photos for guests. The number of free photos depends on your tour type and group size:
- Day Tours: N + 12 photos
- Aurora Hunting Tour Regular ($179/person): N + 7 photos
- Aurora Hunting Tour SGT ($199/person): N + 12 photos
*Where “N” = number of people in your group
The free photo package includes:
- N + 7 or 12 individual or group photos
(Example: if group size is 2, then 2 + 7 free photos = 9 for Regular; SGT tours include additional photos as noted above) - One group photo (all guests on the tour that night)
- One Aurora photo (from your night of Aurora Hunting)
- One tour photo (from your night of Aurora Hunting)
Please note: depending on factors beyond our control, such as weather, aurora, and tour conditions, some individual, group, or tour photos may not be available. This is not a valid reason for tour cancellation or refund.
5. Complimentary Photo Size and Delivery
All free photos are resized to approximately 1MB to 2MB. Photos will be delivered via email to the booking contact email on file within 7 business days after the tour. During the busy season (March, August and September), the turnaround time may extend to 14 business days.
6. Photo Distribution
For groups of two or more, photos will be sent to the group contact email provided at the time of booking. The group contact can then share the photos with other group members. Photos will be delivered to you via Google Photos or Google Drive link.
7. Photo Policy per Tour
Due to the large volume of tours and guests, the n+7 free photo formula applies only to one tour. Photos cannot be transferred to the next day or another tour. For example, if you take only two photos on one tour, you will not be eligible for additional free photos on a subsequent tour.
8. North Star Memory Package
Guests can purchase the North Star Memory Package, which includes all photos and videos (if any) taken during their North Star tours. These photos and videos (if any) will be provided in high-resolution, full-size quality, including the complimentary photos in their original resolution. Please note that one video will be provided per day tour. While on partner tours, photos may or may not be taken by the partner tour company.
Refund Policy: Please note that once payment is made for the North Star Memory Package, it is non-refundable. By completing the payment, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.
9. Pricing for North Star Memory Package
Price for the North Star Memory Package is:
- $99.00 CAD + 5% GST per tour
- $179.00 CAD + 5% GST per 2 tours
- $249.00 CAD + 5% GST per 3 tours
- $299.00 CAD + 5% GST per 4 tours
- $349.00 CAD + 5% GST per 5 tours
- $399.00 CAD + 5% GST per all tours
10. Social Media Sharing
When posting your North Star Adventures photos on social media, please feel free to tag us in your posts.
Our social media handles are:

11. Photo/Video Use by Guests
Guests are not permitted to sell, license, or otherwise use any photos or videos taken during the tour for commercial purposes. Photos and videos provided are for personal use only. Any commercial use, including but not limited to selling, distributing, or using images for promotional or business purposes, requires explicit written consent from North Star Adventures Ltd.
12. No Liability for Photo/Video Quality
While we strive to provide high-quality photos, North Star Adventures Ltd. is not responsible for the quality of the photos or videos under certain conditions. Factors such as weather, lighting, or other unforeseen circumstances may impact the final product. Refunds or compensation will not be offered for photos or videos that do not meet guest expectations.
13. Privacy and Data Protection
North Star Adventures Ltd. respects the privacy of its guests. All personal information provided during booking, including email addresses for photo distribution, will be used solely for the purpose of sharing photos and videos related to the tour and will not be shared with third parties without the guest’s consent. Photos and videos taken during the tour will be retained for a period of 3 months, after which they will be permanently deleted to protect the privacy of our guests. We encourage guests to download any photos or videos they wish to keep within this retention period. For more information on how we handle personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
14. Force Majeure
In the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, or other emergencies) that prevent us from providing the photos or videos as outlined, North Star Adventures Ltd. will not be held liable. We will make every reasonable effort to provide photos and videos, when possible, but no refunds or compensation will be offered for any failure to deliver photos due to such events.
15. No Guarantee of Availability
Photos and videos may not always be available for every tour due to guest preferences and/or other circumstances beyond our control. While we strive to capture moments for all guests, there is no guarantee that all guests will receive photos or videos. Any issues regarding photo availability must be reported to us by email within 7 days after the tour.
16. Additional Photos and Video Requests
If a guest wishes to request additional photos or videos beyond those included in the North Star Memory Package, these may be available for an additional fee. Requests for additional photos or videos must be made within 90 days of the tour date.
17. Refunds and Cancellations
All sales of North Star Memory Packages are final. No refunds will be provided for packages purchased, except in the case that North Star Adventures Ltd. is unable to provide any photos or videos for a guest due to an error on our part (e.g., technical failure, missed photo opportunity, etc.).
18. Updates and Revisions to Photos Terms & Conditions
North Star Adventures Ltd. reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. The latest updates and/or revisions will be posted to our websites. Continued participation in our tours will constitute acceptance of the revised terms. It is the responsibility of the guest to review the most current version of this policy.
