Hear Joe’s team share stories from Indigenous voices
On this 2.0hr tour, you will learn about Indigenous culture and history. Join Joe’s team of Indigenous guides on this personal and educational tour about their Indigenous culture. Hear stories about being raised by grandparents in the traditional Indigenous lifestyle, living on the land.
They will take you on a walking tour of the Indigenous exhibits at the Prince of Wales Heritage Museum and interpret the exhibits as they relate to their own experiences growing up as Indigenous people in today’s modern world.
The guide will talk about how Indigenous people have been — and are still — impacted by the Residential School tragedy, and the challenges they face as they try to heal and once again practice their traditional way of life and culture in today’s world.
The tour will end with a Q&A session. The guide will also talk about Cultural Protocol — how to properly and respectfully interact and engage with Indigenous peoples.
A wonderful tour with Joe’s team, including some of Yellowknife’s most experienced and passionate Indigenous guides!
