All about the MRCE07: 10 Day Tulita to Fort Good Hope.

Package Details:

This Expedition is our MRCE-07. Starts with a scenic flight from Yellowknife to our put in point at Tulita. We’ll spend the day getting to know the community. This will give us a good opportunity to go over the trip in greater detail and get to know each other.

We will spend the next 7-8 days canoeing and camping on the river! Along the way you will learn the history of the river, visit traditional camping spots, visit the oil town of Norman Wells (pop.477), about 75kms down river from Tulita. This Expedition sees the only real challenging part of the river with the Sans Sault Rapids and the very cool and scenic “The Ramparts”. These are near the end of the trip near Fort Good Hope.

First trip of the 2021 summer season departs Yellowknife July 11, with our last trip of the season for this Expedition (MRCE-07), departing Yellowknife August 29. Everything is provided, you just need to bring your friends, family or colleagues. Learn more about this Package now.

Day 1 Charter flight to Tulita & hike Bear Rock1

After an early breakfast we board our charter flight to Tulita. Soon after arriving into Tulita, we will hike up the iconic Bear Rock. After a 3-4hr hike we reach the top and are rewarded with a spectacular view of the Mackenzie River, the Bear River ad the Mackenzie Mountains for miles and miles! Then back to Tulita for a delicious dinner meal on the shore and some time to relax, take some time to yourself and reflect on your journey so far.
Day 2-3 Canoeing and camping on the Mackenzie River!

The next 2 days and nights we continue our canoe journey enjoying the Mackenzie River scenery with each passing kilometre. On the 3rd day we arrive into Norman Wells, an oil industry town and canoe by the made made islands. We will have some time go into town and get a restaurant meal and connect with loved ones back home as there is cell service here
Day 4-9 Canoeing and camping on the Mackenzie River!

The next 6 days and nights we continue our canoe journey enjoying the Mackenzie River scenery with each passing kilometre. On the 3rd day we arrive into Norman Wells, an oil industry town and canoe by the made made islands. We will have some time go into town and get a restaurant meal and connect with loved ones back home as there is cell service here.
Day 10 A relaxing scenic flight back to Yellowknife

After breakfast, and after a wonderful day in this very picturesque community you will board your charter aircraft for a scenic flight back to Yellowknife. Back into Yellowknife, check into your hotel or B&B and enjoy a delicious wrap up dinner to reminisce some more. Thank you for choosing North Star Adventures!
