10 Day Mackenzie River Canoe Trip

Canoe the mighty Mackenzie River!

This canoe trip starts with a 650km road trip to the picturesque Indigenous community of Fort Simpson. From there we will canoe and camp the next 238kms from Fort Simpson to Willowlake River. Our team will pick you upYou will be picked up and then drive back to Yellowknife. We will spend an additional night in Fort Simpson for those that want to experience the world famous Nahanni National Park! 

We will spend 7 days canoeing and camping on this mighty Mackenzie River! Along the way you will learn the history of the river, visit traditional camping spots and spend a full day in the historic community of Fort Simpson to recuperate the muscles and fly into the spectacular Nahanni, enjoy delicious traditional meals and hear stories about the land, about life in the old days and about our culture.

First trip of the 2023 summer season departs Yellowknife June 16, with our last trip of the season departing Yellowknife August 11. Maximum 10 persons per booking, you can add return flight from Ottawa or Toronto to your package, a direct flight, fly 4hrs!
