If you like relaxing road trips and always wanted to see northern Canada then this 7Day northern Canada adventure is for you! Experience Indigenous culture, world’s biggest wild buffalo, the mighty Mackenzie River, and the amazing incredible Nahanni National Park and more!
All along the way your Indigenous driver and guides will keep you entertained with stories about our culture, about the north and even teach some of our Indigenous language. Meet and interact with the wonderful local Indigenous residents and more! We will visit 4 Indigenous communities and a number of scenic locations of the northern wilderness all along the tour. What a Road Trip!!

The Nahanni National Park is one of Canada’s natural wonders! Spend a relaxing night in the heart of the Mackenzie Mountains and experience a once in a lifetime adventure! Welcome to northern Canada! We will greet you at the airport and check you to your hotel. After everyone has checked in, we will all meet for the Tour Package orientation session. Afterwards you have a choice to join our fun and informative Yellowknife Sightseeing City Tour, or just relax and go for a leisurely walk downtown. At 6:00pm we will bring to the scenic Old Town district of Yellowknife for a delicious dinner of local fish at world famous Bullocks’s Bistro! The rest of the evening is free.
Drive 300kms to the small, scenic Indigenous community of Fort Providence. Along the way view scenery of the northern Canada landscape and see the world’s biggest wild buffalo! Arriving into the community we will check you into the Snowshoe Inn and then have lunch. After lunch, we will go for a scenic drive to visit the tiny Indigenous community of Kakisa and visit Lady Evelyn Falls. After dinner meet local Indigenous people and see al their wonderful authentic Indigenous arts and crafts!
After a hearty breakfast, it’s back on the road for a relaxing drive to our first stop, the very scenic Sambaa Deh Falls and we will stop here for lunch. Next we visit the tiny Indigenous community of Jean Marie River (pop. 70), here, the local Indigenous women make some the most beautiful arts and crafts. Continuing on we cross the Liard River by ferry and shortly after arrive into Fort Simpson (pop. 1250) in late afternoon. We will check you into your hotel and enjoy a well deserved dinner meal.
Fly into Nahanni National Park! Take off from the Mackenzie River in a float plane, soon see the majestic Mackenzie Mountains off in the distance. First stop is the breathtaking Virginia Falls, twice as high as the Niagara Falls! After the Falls, it’s onto beautiful Glacier Lake to see the impressive Cirque de Unclimbables. Finally, you visit one of the most scenic places in the entire Mackenzie Mountain Range, Little Doctor Lake wait until you see this place! Then back to Fort Simpson, what a day! (Choose an optional overnight stay at Nahanni Mountain Lodge!)
Spend a relaxing day exploring, visiting and getting to know this wonderful community, or if bad weather prevented us from flying into the Nahanni National Park yesterday, you will fly in today. If we were successful yesterday, then enjoy golfing on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Northwest Territories, the Seven Spruce Golf Course or go for a boat ride on the Mackenzie River! In the evening we will enjoy a delicious dinner of traditional foods at a local residents place.
Enjoy a relaxing flight back to Yellowknife. Along the way see the mighty Mackenzie River and the Horn Plateau. Fly over Edéhzhíe Protected Area a very special traditional place for the local Dene people. Arriving into Yellowknife our team will greet you at the airport and bring you to your hotel where will end off this once in a lifetime northern Canada adventure with a wonderful evening of fine dining of delicious local foods. Reminisce with the other guests about your Midnight Sun Road Adventure!
