What a fun and very cool experience! Our 2.0hr North Star Indigenous Dogsled Tour! Watch as the guides take the excited dogs one by one from the dog kennel and harness them up to the sled, they are so happy! Get to know the dogs, pet the dogs, learn their names and get your photo with them. Every dog is friendly and likes to meet new people. Then get into the dog sleigh with your friends or family and get ready to hit the dog trail!
Okay the dogs are ready to go, the musher asks if you are ready and then you take off, traveling up to 30km/hr! Over the frozen lakes and thru the frozen wilderness of northern Canada being pulled by 10-14 strong, dedicated and excited dogs, wow!! Enjoy the view and quietness of the dogsled ride as you swoosh thru the frozen wilderness.
When we finish, watch as the guides put the dogs away and take more photos of you and the dogs again. Then head inside the cozy cabin heated by wood stove and enjoy delicious traditional bannock and hot chocolate. Listen to stories about how the dogteam played an important role in our daily lives in the old days, they helped us survive, they were like family and we still treat them the same today.
