Our Indigenous Cultural Instructor will tell you the meaning of the drum, its important role in Native American culture especially with our celebrations and ceremonies. She will share stories about the drum as they teach you how to make your own mini drum.
The drum plays an important role in many Indigenous cultures all over the worlds, it has many different roles, but most common of all the many roles the drum has, it brings people and communities together in celebration! You will hear our Dene drum songs as you make your drum! In this 3.0hr workshop, learn about the history of the Drum. Create your own design with different beads, feathers and colours.
You can also have the chance to try on some of our traditional Indigenous clothing. Great for taking photos with. A great and wonderful genuine Indigenous cultural experience and you will leave with a very cool Yellowknives Dene souvenir!
