Culture Camp

COMING WINTER OF 2012

Visit our Culture Camp and experience different traditional Dene activities such as:

Tent #1 – Traditional Storytelling with Dene Elder

Tent #2 – Beading & Sewing with Dene woman

Tent #3 – History of Yellowknives Dene First Nation

Tent #4 – Trapping, Snaring and Hunting

Each activity will be in a tent so guests will move from tent to tent to experience each of these activities and then enjoy a traditional meal, bannock and hot chocolate or fresh bush tea in the cook tent afterwards.

Our Winter Culture Camp is located on Spruce Gum Island, an island approximately 17km from Yellowknife.

We pick up from your hotel or B&B between 10:00 am and 10:30 am and drive you out there.

The island has a great view of both Yellowknife and the Indian village of Dettah off in the distance!

Winter clothing can be provided for an additional $20/person

Time: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Cost: $199/person*
